Big opportunity for UK professionals looking to work in Canada!

Under the Canada–UK CPTPP rules, eligible professionals may be able to obtain a Canadian work permit without an LMIA when they have a qualifying job offer and meet the program requirements.

🔹 Eligible fields can include finance, engineering, technology and business consulting
🔹 Applicants generally need at least 2 years of relevant work experience
🔹 The position must fall under an eligible TEER 0 or 1 occupation
🔹 Work permits can be issued for up to 1 year and may be renewable
🔹 No LMIA can mean less employer paperwork and lower recruitment-related costs

If you're a UK citizen with the right qualifications and a Canadian job offer, this could be an important pathway to explore.

Always verify your occupation, job offer and eligibility requirements before applying.

Saskatchewan has announced its final capped-sector immigration intake for 2026!

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) has set aside 550 provincial immigration spaces for employers in selected sectors. The intake will take place on September 14 and 15, with spots available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Available spots:
🔹 Retail, trade & other services — 175
🔹 Trucking — 150
🔹 Accommodation — 50
🔹 Food services — 175

Employers need to be ready when their specific intake window opens, as spaces in many capped sectors can fill within hours.

Workers being supported must generally have 6 months or less remaining on their work permit, and employers must submit an Employer Position Assessment (EPA).

Saskatchewan has already filled 1,262 capped-sector positions through its January–July 2026 intakes. The province's total SINP nomination allocation for 2026 is 4,761.

If you work in one of these sectors and are looking at Saskatchewan as a pathway to permanent residence, preparation before the intake opens could be critical.

Canada has released its first temporary residence processing-time update for September 2026, and several applicants are seeing shorter estimated wait times.

🔹 Work permits: Pakistan dropped from 8 to 7 weeks, while applications from inside Canada fell from 115 to 113 days.
🔹 Study permits: India improved by 2 weeks, dropping from 7 to 5 weeks.
🔹 Super Visas: Pakistan saw one of the biggest changes, falling by 23 days from 162 to 139 days. The Philippines dropped by 11 days.
🔹 Visitor visas: Changes were relatively small, generally just 1–2 days.

Important: IRCC processing times are estimates—not guarantees. Actual timelines can vary depending on application complexity, inventory, additional document requests and other checks.

IRCC also reported processing 1,566,455 temporary residence applications during the first six months of 2026, with more than 401,000 applications still awaiting a final decision at the end of June.

The next temporary residence processing-time update is expected around September 9, 2026.

BIG EXPRESS ENTRY UPDATE FOR 2027 !

Canada could make category-based Express Entry selection more targeted in 2027, potentially affecting 5 major labour-shortage categories : Healthcare & Social Services, STEM, Trades, Education and Transport.

The important point is that no category has been officially confirmed for removal yet. However, IRCC's consultation has raised the possibility of focusing on a smaller and more targeted group of occupations, particularly based on labour shortages, skill levels and Canada's economic priorities.

Candidates currently eligible under these categories should not assume that the same occupations will automatically remain eligible in 2027. At the same time, there is no reason to panic final categories and occupation lists have not yet been announced.

What should Express Entry candidates do now?
✅ Keep your Express Entry profile updated
✅ Improve your CRS score
✅ Explore PNP options
✅ Keep language test results valid
✅ Watch for the official IRCC announcement

The 2027 consultation ran from August 4 to September 1, 2026, while IRCC has not confirmed an exact date for announcing the final 2027 categories.

Stay informed before making any major immigration decisions !
