We are now accepting applications for our 2026 Scholarship Program. Since 2007, MROO has awarded hundreds of to students across studying at a Canadian university, community college or similar post-secondary institution entering the second year of study of their first degree, with a full course load (full-time student).

Open to relatives of members.

Scholarship candidates are graded on key factors such as their demonstrated experience in leadership positions, evidence of their volunteer work in their community, their ability to explain their vision of their future after their post-secondary studies, and how their studies will prepare them to lead and assist others in the future.

Congratulations to Malak Saif El Nasr for being awarded a MROO Targeted Scholarship for her graduate research in developing methodologies for driving risk analysis with the goal of keeping older drivers on the road for longer to keep their independence.

This is MROO’s fourth year awarding the Targeted Scholarship with Carleton University and Sensors and Analytics for Monitoring Mobility and Memory - SAM3.

Congratulations to 2026 Labarge Scholarship recipient Angelina Baric who has received a 2026 Targeted Scholarship from the Municipal Retirees Organization Ontario - MROO. Angelina's research centres on understanding the long-term health effects of ultra-processed food consumption, with a particular emphasis on women’s health across the life course. She is working to understand where diet may increase or reduce the risk of health and functional complications after menopause among Canadian women with a focus on mobility outcomes, which are critical to maintaining independence and quality of life in older age.
