The Fire & Emergency Services Training Institute (FESTI) provides a one-stop portal for provincial, national and international emergency response training for new or current firefighters. Programs at FESTI meet the stringent requirements of standard setting bodies like the National Fire Protection Association, Pro Board, the Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management, Canadian Aviation Re

gulations, the Institution of Fire Engineers, and the International Civil Aviation Organization. Diverse classroom design supports education and training for class sizes ranging from 6 to 90. FESTI provides customized programs to suit any organization’s needs. FESTI offers over 40 acres of training grounds that include:
-Confined Spaces Building to simulate confined space entry and rescue within a safe environment.

-Confined Space Maze which builds responder confidence.

-Rescue Tower equipped with standpipes, sprinkler lab, search and rescue maze, engineered roof anchor points and smoke injection.

-Burn Building designed with underground garage and nine burn pads.

-Aircraft Training Mock-Ups: a 5,000 square foot large mock-up designed for exterior handline and truck operations and a small mock-up designed for exterior and interior fire control operations.

-Auto Extrication area, large enough to create multiple scenarios at one time allowing students to rapidly transition from one skill station to the next.

-Hazardous materials training props which include multiple MC306 tanks, chlorine tonners, IBCs, drums, small cylinders and even a railcar!

The ARFF program is undergoing some changes at FESTI. We have added The Pe*******on Aircraft Skin Trainer (PAST) to train firefighters to properly pierce the fuselage of an aircraft. Another change that is coming is the delivery of our ARFF re-cert program. Stay tuned for more.
