Happy National Seniors Day! 🎉
Here Moncton Community & Family Services in King Street, we love and value our seniors. We are thankful for the stories they share, the friendships they build, the time they give and the countless ways they enrich the lives of those around them. Whether through social gatherings, income tax assistance, practical support, or offering a caring ear, we are honoured to walk alongside them.
Today we recognize and celebrate the seniors who help make our community stronger, kinder, and more connected.
Be sure to follow our page for monthly updates on programs and events for seniors!

Did you know that seniors volunteer more hours than any other age group in Canada? According to a 2018 study, seniors volunteer an average of 223 hours per year! 🤯

Today is National Seniors Day, which celebrates the essential contributions that seniors make in their communities across Canada.

At The Salvation Army, we are proud to support older adults through long-term care homes, adult day programs and hospice care. These services enhance physical and mental well-being, foster connection while also providing support throughout every stage of life.

To all grandparents, family members and friends who inspire us with wisdom and warm our hearts, thank you for all that you do! 🤗

Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The Salvation Army recognizes the human rights violations Indigenous Peoples have suffered and acknowledges that ongoing injustice still occurs across Turtle Island. We want to recognize the hurt that has been done and make the most of this opportunity to celebrate Indigenous cultures and traditions.

☀️ **What a summer it has been!** 💛

We’re so thankful for the privilege of serving our community in creative and meaningful ways this summer through our children’s and youth programs!

From Lewis St. Park Program and Kids in the Kitchen, to No Fret Guitar and Rooted & Rising – Third Culture Kids, and 55 campers off to Scotian Glen Camp, we’ve had the joy of being present in our neighbourhood, building relationships, sharing skills, celebrating strengths, and learning new things together. 🎨🎸🍳🌳

It’s been a summer filled with connection, creativity, laughter, new friendships, and opportunities to grow. We’re grateful for every child, young person, family, volunteer, partner, and staff member who helped make it possible.

Thank you for allowing us to be part of your summer!
