Maison LI-BER-T House

Our mission is to provide women transitioning from rehab into society with a safe housing alternative, and to empower them to become self-sufficient through learning, leadership, companionship and service. This is important because there is no such facility open presently in Quebec, that offers these services. The rate of successful recovery from addiction and/or crime is 40% - 50% with intervention and about 5% without intervention making LI·BER·T House a vital component in improving women's chances of overcoming the dangerous lifestyle that goes with addiction and crime. All women seeking admission to MLH must have completed a Drug Addiction Treatment program of at least 90 days. LI·BER·T House offers addiction counselling, mentoring, community resource support and tailored services and programs to meet the specific needs of each client. MLH is based on a 6-step program involving; personal development, vocational development, relapse prevention, inter-personal skills, community involvement, and independent living. "The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation serves as a solemn reminder of the enduring legacy of the residential school system and the need for a continued commitment to reconciliation. Today and every day in our work we reflect on the importance of honouring the experiences and voices of Indigenous peoples, past and present." McConnell Foundation Statement which resonates with LI-BER-T House and our mission. We offer reserved spaces for Indigenous women who need a safe place to reintegrate.

LI-BER-T has come a long way and we are growing faster than ever. There is an increased need for our services and our shelter component is at full capacity. LI-BER-T hopes to purchase a larger home to help more women stay safe. Please donate if you can www.libert.ca and/or if you know of someone who would like to donate their house for a good cause send them our way. Also, there might be people like that can afford to fund this project and an opportunity to have the house named after them. If you have it, do it!!! Even a 5 or 6 bedroom house can be renovated to accommodate our needs. Please share and spread the word!
