Over 200,000 ADC Members Join APC in Kaduna, Led by Ex-Governorship Aspirant

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State has received over 200,000 new members from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), led by Hon. Jafaru Ibrahim Sani, a former governorship aspirant of the ADC.

The reception, held at Filin Idin Katsinawa in Zaria, was led by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, who welcomed the defectors into the ruling party.

The event marked a significant political development in the state, as thousands of supporters reportedly joined the APC, citing their decision to align with the party and participate in its political activities.

Speaking at the gathering, Abbas expressed delight at the decision of Sani and his supporters to join the APC, describing their arrival as an opportunity to strengthen the party’s grassroots structures and broaden its political base.

He said politics should focus on the aspirations of the people and the opportunities available to improve their lives, stressing the importance of unity, inclusion and collective efforts towards development.

The Speaker also assured the new members of a warm welcome, urging them to embrace unity of purpose and mutual respect as they begin a new chapter within the APC.

He added that the party remained open to new members and committed to working towards the development of Kaduna State and Nigeria.

The defection comes amid political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, as political parties and their supporters continue to position themselves for the next electoral cycle.
