Want to see the Dynamic Media Facility in action? Join us at IBC.

Grass Valley will present the show’s largest demonstration of an end-to-end, camera-to-consumer DMF workflow. Built on AMPP and underpinned by MXL v1.1, it brings together more than 18 technology partners - including Calrec, Lawo, TAG Video Systems, TVU Networks and Zoom - into one open, interoperable environment.

As a founding member of the MXL initiative, Grass Valley is demonstrating how AMPP provides the shared orchestration, management, media fabric and user experience that enable technologies from multiple vendors to operate as one unified media operation.

The result is simpler operations, true production agility and an environment that is deployable today.

Come and see software-defined production taken to the next level at IBC 2026.

Cloud production brings flexibility, but keeping track of what you’re spending can be difficult.

At IBC, see how Digital Joy Insight brings AMPP costs together with AWS, Azure, GCP and Oracle in one view, giving production and finance teams a clearer picture of cloud spend.

Teams can see what individual workflows, channels or clients are costing, compare budgets against actual spend and identify opportunities to reduce costs.

It makes cloud production easier to budget, manage and optimise.

🏆 Grass Valley has been recognized with a 2026 Technology & Engineering Emmy® Award!

The award recognizes our contribution to the development of web-based, frame-accurate remote monitoring systems for distributed broadcast production, including AMPP and Flow Monitors.

What began as an urgent response to the shift toward distributed production during the pandemic has become an established part of how live content is produced today.

We’re proud to be recognized by NATAS alongside CBS Sports, NBCUniversal, Disney, Amazon, Game Creek, SipRadius and Vindral. for our collective contribution to advance these technologies and workflows.

The award will be presented on October 14 at the Engineering, Science & Technology Emmy ceremony in North Hollywood.

With the European football season now underway, we’re looking back at the biggest football event of the summer. ⚽

For FOX Sports, the 2026 World Cup was a production unlike any before it. 104 matches. 16 venues. And, for the first time, a World Cup operation built around its permanent Pico headquarters in Los Angeles, with Grass Valley K-Frame switchers at the heart of the production.

We spoke with Kevin Callahan, VP of Field Operations & Engineering at FOX Sports, about the technology, planning and workflows behind the biggest World Cup in FOX Sports history.

What does it take to produce hundreds of LaLiga matches across two competitions, using different production models?

has built a new production centre in Madrid that brings these workflows together.
For LaLiga Hypermotion, the operation uses centralized remote production with GV AMPP. For LaLiga EA Sports, established OB workflows remain in place. The same facility can support both, with production resources allocated according to the requirements of each match.

The result is a hybrid production environment designed around flexibility, scalability and efficient use of production resources.

One infrastructure. One control experience

The future of infrastructure isn't another control layer. It's fewer.

See how GV Orbit, ACE-3901-GRID, XIP-3911-IO, Altair-160 and Kaleido-IP X work together to connect SDI, IP, MXL and cloud workflows into one operational environment.

Modernize at your own pace while keeping the control your team already knows.

Cloud production is flexible. Managing everything behind it can be complex.

At IBC, see how Layercake Streamcake automates the infrastructure behind AMPP production, from provisioning cloud compute and launching workloads to connecting transport and configuring delivery.

Teams can build repeatable production templates, deploy them in minutes, scale resources when needed and tear them down when the production ends.

That means less manual configuration, faster deployment and better control over cloud costs.

See Layercake Streamcake orchestrating AMPP workflows on the Grass Valley booth at IBC.

Media operations are becoming more powerful.

Dedicated hardware. Software-defined workflows. Cloud resources. Remote production. Partner technologies. On-demand capabilities.

That creates enormous flexibility. But it can also create complexity.

The more powerful the operation becomes, the less complexity people should feel.
That’s the paradox.

A truly unified media operation isn’t just about connecting technologies. It’s about making them feel like one operation.

Operations teams shouldn’t have to mentally stitch hardware, software and cloud environments together. Creative teams shouldn’t have to think about the technology delivering the capability underneath.

The operation can become more dynamic.

The experience of running it should become more coherent.

This is the seventh and final article in our series, Seven Paradoxes Shaping the Next Era of Media Production, exploring why operational coherence is ultimately about people – giving them the visibility, control and confidence to create, operate and adapt without carrying the complexity of the technology underneath.
