Le 4060 St. Laurent will celebrate its 100th anniversary this year. The building was designed by architects Dufort & Decary and built during the winter of 1911-1912 by the Atlas Contruction Company for Abraham M. The minimalist architecture of the Vineberg building was inspired by the Chicago school. It is also one of the first buildings built with reinforced concrete in Montreal. The textile mill operated until the 1980s. In 1987 a group of 22 artists, calling themselves Espace 22, bought the building and transformed it into a condominium in 1987.
