Moose Jaw Multicultural Council The Moose Jaw Multicultural Council is a non-profit organization that serves newcomers to Canada. The goals of the MJMC are:

1.

The Moose Jaw Multicultural Council (MJMC) is a non-profit charitable organization and acts as an umbrella for other cultural groups in the city of Moose Jaw and area. In addition, we provide a full range of Settlement, Orientation and Language services for newcomers to Moose Jaw and Area. MJMC is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors and was formed in May 1974. To provide direct settlement,

adaptation and integration services to newcomers in Moose Jaw and area.

2. To discourage racial and cultural discrimination by encouraging an understanding of and an appreciation of our cultural diversity.

3. To act as a forum from which newcomers issues and concerns can be collectively raised.

4. To promote awareness and understanding between the newcomer to Canada and the community.

5. To promote and to encourage the retention of language and cultural as essential components of Multiculturalism.

6. To act as a consultant for cultural and ethnic groups or any other groups with an interest in ethnic and cultural matters.

7. To promote co-operation and mutual understanding amongst Canadians.
