Tickets are $5 for 1, or $20 for 5, and are available from department members, Wapella Town Office and other select locations.

The draw will be held on the evening of August 22nd 2026.

We don't have an e-transfer in place as yet but we're working on it, so watch this space!

All proceeds will go towards fire hall improvements and replacement of our water tanker.

Our thoughts are with all those affected by the tragic accident our colleagues in Prince Edward Island suffered yesterday.

We can become blasé about the job and how often we are on the road going to Regina, Yorkton, Estevan, Brandon etc etc. We don't always think of the risks our time on the highways involves.

Sadly this is a very sobering reminder that when you head out on shift, there's always a chance you might not come back.

Our hearts hurt for the loss of a sister and brother medic team, rest easy, your tour is over, we will take it from here...

Happy Nurses Week to all those amazing people who staff our hospitals, LTC's and other healthcare facilities!

But we'd like to say a special Happy Nurses Week to our fantastic nurses at the SEICC right here in Moosomin.

Their compassion, professionalism and caring nature are always an inspiration, they always greet you with a smile and a kind word, we might be biased but we are very very fond of our nurses here at SEICC!

Soooo, following on from yesterdays somewhat grumpy post (sorry, not sorry) we have an update on last weeks post regarding our newly purchased Lucas device.

Instructors from Stryker were at the base yesterday taking everyone through the operation, maintenance and care of the unit.

It was an interesting afternoon, lots learned and practice had!

So the machine is now officially in service, we hope we never have to use it, but it's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

We will be continuing our manual CPR training and skills as usual, the Lucas 3 is an aid to CPR, it's not replacing our manual skills!

Ok folks, PSA and a little bit of a rant.

Whilst one of our crews were responding to an urgent emergency call using lights and sirens, a number of drivers failed to notice the ambulance until the very last second, and when they did see them the moved to the right but refused to slow down, making it more dangerous for our crew to pass them.

The law here in SK states on a two lane highway, traffic on BOTH sides of the road have to slow down, move over and STOP.

Now the majority of drivers do as required, and we appreciate that, but unfortunately there are always a few who either aren't paying attention or think the rules don't apply to them.

So please be aware of your surroundings when driving, check those mirrors regularly, because it could be your family member, friend, relative etc we're responding to help. (We hope it isn't, but life is life)
