I want more TRANSPARENCY on city council. It's hard to get involved or be passionate about your community when you don't feel connected to the decisions that are being made. When I am mayor, you will be able to watch council meetings online and know what is going on during those meetings and in your city.

Waste Water is the most important issue facing the City of Morden and it is imperative that we continue to move this project forward. Morden needs to see RESULTS from City Council's work on this initiative. I am grateful to have Gordon Daman consulting on this project. It's no secret that our waste water capacity is the weak link for residential and industrial growth in our community. BrendaKlassenforMayor.com

Last week the City of Morden held a public open house to keep residents informed on Morden’s new wastewater treatment facility project. Attendees received an update from the project team and had the opportunity to have their questions answered. Thank you to everyone who came out and participated in this event!

Highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to step up in local government. McCormack explores how local government can be used “for the benefit of the people", putting the work on government to be more transparent, knowledgeable of, and available to the needs of the communities they serve.

I believe all council meetings should be live-streamed and available to all Morden citizens. That all votes be recorded and available to the public. The people have a right to know what council is doing with their time and how their tax dollars are being used. Transparency is true accountability, and a cornerstone of my platform as your next mayor.

Canada Day at Morden's Colert Beach is free to all to attend. Imagine being able to come to the beach at no cost all summer long! This is just one idea I am working on for my term as Morden's mayor. Our city's natural resources have always been a highlight of life in Morden, and I want Morden residents to be able to continue to enjoy a healthy lake at an affordable cost for generations to come.

This event will be a great opportunity to ask questions, learn more about running as a candidate, and gain insight into what serving on council involves.
