Supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ people in the Pembina Valley We love and support Southern Manitoba’s Rainbow community and want to help it flourish.

It is Pembina Valley Pride's purpose to create and provide education, support, resources, community, and pride centering around 2SLGBTQIANB+ experiences within the communities of the Pembina Valley. We are a proudly Rainbow-led volunteer initiative and are committed to doing our best to create accessible and diverse programming that meets the needs of all Rainbow community members.

Today's Pride at Home pick is The Prospects by KT Hoffman. 🌈

This q***r sports romance is about a gay trans man playing professional baseball in the minor leagues. When his longtime rival gets traded to his team, the two have to figure out how to work together both on and off the field.

It's a funny, heartfelt story about q***r love, trans joy, ambition, and finding the courage to want more for yourself. It also offers a refreshing and authentic portrayal of trans life, something that's still too often missing from books like this.

Content note: This book includes sexual content, transphobia, homophobia, panic attacks, injury, and references to misogyny toward trans men.

Today's Pride at Home pick is The Hockey Player. 🌈

This new documentary follows Canadian hockey player Luke Prokop as he becomes the first openly gay player under contract to an NHL team.

It reminds us that visibility and representation continue to make a difference, especially in rural communities where hockey is such a big part of the culture, and where many 2SLGBTQIA+ folks haven't always felt like they belong.

This collection of intersecting short stories explores Indigenous experiences through a q***r lens, capturing moments both ordinary and life-changing. With themes of love, loneliness, family, and belonging, it offers a thoughtful and deeply human reflection on identity, connection, and community.
