Great news for our community!

I want to recognize the tremendous work of our Environmental Services team, along with OCWA and our technical partners, who helped bring this project to completion. Projects like this don’t happen without expertise, persistence, and long-term planning.

This investment was also made possible through strong partnerships, with funding support from both the federal and provincial governments through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program.

It’s a good reminder of how important it is for Council to continue advocating, building relationships, and working directly with our provincial and federal partners to secure the infrastructure funding our growing communities rely on.

We will continue working to ensure a safe, reliable water supply for residents today and into the future.

The Township’s newest water source Wellfield 8 is now operational. It will provide the community with an additional 20 L/s and will sustain our current water demand and service a portion of future demand.

This project was a recipient of $3.5 million from the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program.

For those wondering if the bridge was “just fixed,” the previous work was actually over a decade ago and limited in scope. This rehabilitation is more extensive and essential to maintaining the structure long-term. We appreciate everyone’s patience during construction, we will provide regular updates as the project progresses.

CASS BRIDGE UPDATE - SINGLE LANE CLOSURES IN EFFECT

A lane reduction is in place at the bridge. The open lane is only 3.5 metres wide - so large farm vehicles and other big machinery may have to find alternative routes.

The rehabilitation work on half the bridge will last until November of this year. Next year the balance of the work will be completed.

We apologize for the inconvenience this work will create, and we thank motorists for their patience.

Today I officially filed my nomination to seek a third term as Mayor.

It’s been a privilege to serve this community, and I remain committed to the important work still ahead.

This campaign marks a new chapter. After 38 years of shift work with one of our community’s respected employers, I look forward to retiring from my full-time career and dedicating my full professional focus to serving as your Mayor.

With proven leadership, deep community roots, and a full-time commitment to the role, I am ready to continue building a stronger future for our township.

I would be grateful for the opportunity to once again earn your support.

Wishing everyone in our community a safe and happy Easter. I hope you’re able to enjoy some time with family, friends, and the simple moments that make small-town life special.

This week marks 28 years since the 1998 Ice Storm, a moment that left a lasting mark on North Dundas.

This CBC Ottawa News clip is from the 20th anniversary (Jan. 8, 2018), when I was serving as Deputy Fire Chief and Councillor. The story focused on the incredible efforts of our volunteer fire departments, who worked tirelessly alongside neighbours helping neighbours during one of the most challenging times our community has faced.

A powerful reminder of North Dundas at its best.

🎄✨Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, North Dundas ✨🎄

This video was taken at the Garden Party Christmas Market, where I had the pleasure of joining a local group of carollers (members of Dundas County Players) to sing Silent Night. It was a nice moment that reflected the strong sense of community we have here.

As we head into the holiday season, let’s continue to look out for one another, offer kindness where we can, and support our neighbours. From my family to yours, wishing you a safe, peaceful, and happy holiday season. 🎄
