ARROW crews are responding to a wastewater pipeline break near Sir Winston Churchill Avenue and Kingswood Drive in St. Albert. A small section of the Red Willow Trail system has been affected and wastewater from the pipeline break entered the nearby Sturgeon River. Residents are asked to avoid the immediate area and follow posted detours while repairs are underway.

The County is always prepared for changing weather conditions. Priority will be given to active damage to public infrastructure first, then areas at high risk of damage, followed by lower-risk situations. Next week, we celebrate Seniors' Week in Sturgeon County and across the province. To get in the spirit, we kicked the celebrations off yesterday with a free Gardening Workshop Lunch & Learn that brought seniors together to learn, connect, and enjoy a hands-on experience. A big thank you goes out to High Q Greenhouses for their generous donation of plants and soil, which made this event possible, and to Johnny’s Store for providing a delicious sandwich lunch with coffee and other refreshments.

This event reflects the spirit of Seniors' Week by promoting wellness, lifelong learning, and meaningful community connection. We are so grateful to our partners and participants for helping make this kickoff such a success!
