Beginning in 2007, the yellow ribbon has become a national symbol of support for our Canadian Armed Forces. You may notice yellow ribbons tied around the front of Morinville Public School and staff wearing yellow ribbons over their hearts as a visible reminder that we stand with our Canadian Armed Forces and their families.
Morinville Public School, and the wider Sturgeon Public School community, are home to many military families. Following the tragedy at CFB Wainwright, we are holding all of our military families in our thoughts and hearts.
In partnership with the Mayor and Council of the Town of Morinville, we invite our wider community to join us in showing support for the Canadian Armed Forces by tying yellow ribbons around our community. π You will be able to come and get ribbon to use at multiple locations. Each ribbon will be cut by the students and the Dandelion Club of Morinville Public School.
π Where to get your yellow ribbons:
Saturday, 10-3pm: Visit our booth at the MLC to pick up a ribbon or two.
Sunday, 2β6 pm: Stop by our booth at the Morinville Cultural Centre.
Town of Morinville Office: Ribbons will also be available at the Town Office.
Our Canadian Armed Forces stand up for us every day. Now, it is our turn to stand with them. Together, letβs fill Morinville with yellow ribbons and remind our military community that they are supported, appreciated, and never alone. π Sturgeon Public Schools
