🍂 Fall is here, but playground season isn’t over! 🍁
Cooler temperatures, colourful leaves, and crisp fall air make this one of the best times of year to get outside and play.

It’s also a great time for communities, schools, and daycares to take a closer look at their playgrounds before winter arrives. Check for worn components, loose hardware, damaged surfacing, and anything else that may need attention before the snow flies.

At Northland Recreation Supply, we can help with:
• Playground equipment & upgrades
• Replacement parts & repairs
• Playground inspections
• Surfacing & artificial turf
• Site furnishings
• Planning for your next recreation Lanigan Day Care Expansion Project

We recently completed the installation of this new 40' traverse climbing wall, turning an unused gym wall into an active recreation feature that can be enjoyed year-round.

Traverse walls are a great way to add climbing, movement, coordination and problem-solving opportunities without taking up valuable floor space.

Another project helping create more ways for communities to move, play and stay active.

Rainy Day Playground Safety

A little rain doesn't always mean the playground has to close - but wet conditions can create hazards that should be checked before play continues.

After rainfall, watch for:

• Slippery decks, steps, climbers and slides
• Standing water in play areas or accessible routes
• Washed-out or displaced playground surfacing
• Erosion around borders, footings and slopes
• Mud, leaves or debris creating slip and trip hazards
• Damage following heavy rain, wind or storms

⚡ And if there’s lightning or severe weather, the playground should be cleared until conditions are safe.

A quick inspection after a storm can help catch small issues before they become bigger safety or maintenance problems.

What a transformation!

The outdoor space at the Lanigan Day Care Expansion Project went from rough, unfinished dirt and gravel to a clean, green inviting space with new artificial turf. The finished area gives the day care a more comfortable, practical outdoor space for everyday play while creating a much brighter and more welcoming environment for the kids.

Projects like this area great example of how the right surfacing can completely change the look and function of an outdoor space.

We would like to thank the Lanigan Day Care Expansion Project team, TSL Mechanical and Failler Skidsteer Service for all of the help!

☀️ Play Safe. Stay Hydrated. Keep the Fun Going! 💧🛝

Summer is playground season, and there's nothing better than watching kids climb, slide, swing, and explore! But when temperatures rise, it's important to keep everyone safe while they play.

Here are a few simple tips for a great day at the playground:
💦 Bring plenty of water and encourage kids to drink often—even before they feel thirsty.
🍎 Pack healthy snacks like fruit, vegetables, cheese, or granola bars to keep energy levels up.
🧢 Wear hats, sunscreen, and lightweight clothing to stay protected from the sun.
🌳 Take breaks in the shade to cool down, especially during the hottest part of the day.
🌡️ Always check playground equipment before use. Metal slides and dark surfaces can become very hot in direct sunlight.

A little planning helps ensure more smiles, more laughter, and a safer day of outdoor fun for everyone.

At Northland Recreation Supply, we're passionate about creating safe, active play spaces that bring communities together all summer long.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and enjoy the outdoors! ☀️💙

🌿 Project Spotlight | Lanigan Co-operative Day Care 🌿

We're proud to showcase another completed project that gives children a safer, more engaging place to learn and play!

For the Lanigan Co-operative Day Care, our top notch Team - Stephen Prodaehl, Colin Harcourt and Mark Rolfes transformed another outdoor play space into an oasis:

✅ Over 5,000 sq. ft. of premium artificial turf
✅ Engineered Wood Fibre (EWF) surfacing throughout the remainder of the play yard
✅ Custom turf hill with an integrated hill slide, steps and climber
✅ Improved accessibility, safety, and year-round usability
✅ A clean, durable outdoor environment designed for active play

The result is a beautiful outdoor space that encourages imagination, movement, and exploration while reducing maintenance and providing excellent drainage and accessibility.
