πŸ”₯ Annual Fire Convention 2026 πŸ”₯

This past weekend, four of our members traveled to Gander for the annual Fire Convention. It was a very successful weekend filled with networking, building new connections, learning, and sharing experiences with fellow firefighters from across the province.

During the weekend, Chief Grant Pinsent had the opportunity to sit on the Wildfire Panel, where he shared our department’s experiences and lessons learned from past wildfires. It was a great opportunity to share our knowledge, hear from other departments, and continue learning from the experiences of others across the province.

It was also a great opportunity to celebrate another successful year in the fire service and recognize the importance of the strong relationships we continue to build within our firefighting community. πŸš’

One of the most meaningful moments of the weekend was recognizing the many fire departments who responded to the Kingston Wildfire. On behalf of our department, Captain Hickey accepted a beautiful print and certificate in recognition of our members' response and assistance. The print holds a huge amount of meaning for our department, and we are incredibly proud to display it at our hall as a reminder of the dedication, teamwork that exists within the fire service.
A huge thank you to everyone who made this weekend such a success. We’re already looking forward to next year!
Until then, stay safe and keep answering the call. πŸš’πŸ”₯

πŸš’ Highly Recommend β€” Rescue Education Consulting & Training

As firefighters, training is an ongoing commitment. There is always something new to learn, skills to improve, and knowledge to build on and having people like Andrew Parsons in our corner makes that commitment a little easier.

Andrew recently provided our department with a jump drive packed with endless hours of training videos, resources, and valuable educational material to help our members continue learning and help our department advance. Having access to resources like these is an incredible benefit for a volunteer fire department.

Rescue Education Consulting & Training also offers a wide range of training courses for the fire service, and Andrew consistently goes above and beyond to support and help local fire departments succeed. His willingness to share knowledge, provide resources, and support departments in their ongoing training truly stands out.

We are extremely grateful for the time, effort, and support he has given our department. πŸš’πŸ”₯
If you're a fire department looking for quality training, resources, and someone who genuinely wants to see departments succeed, give Rescue Education Consulting & Training a follow and check out what they have to offer!

Thank you, Andrew, for supporting the fire service and helping us continue to learn, train, and improve! πŸ‘¨β€πŸš’πŸ”₯

Huge thank you to Amber at the town office for her persistence in helping us with obtaining new gear!!
Our department appreciates your ongoing support!!

We appreciate the ongoing support from our community. ❀️

The Town of Musgrave Harbour is pleased to announce that we have received approval for funding through the 2026/27 Fire Protection Financial Assistance Grant for the purchase of four complete sets of bunker gear for the Musgrave Harbour Fire Department!

The approved project represents an investment of $24,671.69 in new protective equipment for our firefighters, with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador providing an 80% provincial contribution of $17,898.52, and the Town of Musgrave Harbour and Volunteer Fire Department contributing the remaining 20% ($4,474.63).

Town had applied for funding for 14 complete sets of bunker gear, we are incredibly grateful to have been approved for four new sets. This is still a substantial investment in the health, safety, and protection of our volunteer firefighters, who put themselves on the line to protect our community.

This new equipment will help ensure that members of the Musgrave Harbour Fire Department have modern, properly fitted protective gear when responding to emergencies β€” something that is invaluable to our department and our community. πŸ§‘β€πŸš’

The Town of Musgrave Harbour and Musgrave Harbour Fire Department would like to sincerely thank the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador for this important contribution and continued support of fire services in our province.

We would also like to extend our appreciation to the Honourable Pleaman Forsey, MHA for the District of Exploits and Minister of Forestry, Agriculture and Lands, for his support and for recognizing the importance of investing in the safety and equipment of our volunteer firefighters.

We are proud to continue strengthening our Fire Department and investing in the people and equipment that help keep Musgrave Harbour and surrounding communities safe.

πŸš’ Thank you to our volunteer firefighters for all that you do! ❀️

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing Firettes for being at the station this morning with coffee and food after a early morning call.
Your kindness, support, and presence mean more than words can express. Knowing there are people at the hall ready to offer a warm welcome and stand behind us during difficult calls is something we never take for granted.
Thank you for always being there for our department. Your support makes a difference, and we are truly grateful for everything you do. πŸ‘¨β€πŸš’πŸ‘©β€πŸš’β€οΈ Musgrave Harbour Firettes

The province-wide ban means:

β€’All burn permits are cancelled.

β€’Fireworks and sky lanterns are prohibited.

β€’Propane and gas barbecues are still permitted when used safely and away from flammable vegetation.
