A heartfelt thank you to our amazing Firettes for being at the station this morning with coffee and food after a early morning call.
Your kindness, support, and presence mean more than words can express. Knowing there are people at the hall ready to offer a warm welcome and stand behind us during difficult calls is something we never take for granted.

As of today (July 8, 2026), the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has implemented a province-wide fire ban due to elevated wildfire risk and ongoing wildfire activity. The ban is currently scheduled to remain in effect until July 17, unless updated sooner.

The province-wide ban means:

•No campfires or wood-fueled outdoor fires.

•All burn permits are cancelled.

•Fireworks and sky lanterns are prohibited.

•Propane and gas barbecues are still permitted when used safely and away from flammable vegetation.

🔥 Thank You for Supporting Wildfire Preparedness Day! 🔥

On behalf of the Musgrave Harbour Fire Department, we would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who came out yesterday to support our Wildfire Preparedness Day. While the crowd may have been small, we truly appreciate every person who took the time to attend, learn, and engage in making our community safer.
A special thank you goes out to the Forestry Department for joining us and sharing their knowledge, expertise, and valuable information on wildfire prevention and preparedness. Your support helped make the day both educational and enjoyable.

We would also like to thank all of our firefighters, volunteers, and community members who worked behind the scenes to plan, set up, and help run the event. Events like this are only possible because of the dedication and hard work of many people.
A huge thank you to our student helpers as well. Your enthusiasm, assistance, and willingness to lend a hand throughout the day did not go unnoticed and were greatly appreciated.

To everyone who contributed in any way—whether by donating, helping organize, attending, or supporting the event—thank you for helping make it a success.

We hope everyone left with some useful tips and information to help better prepare their homes and properties for wildfire season. We encourage you to share what you learned with your family, friends, and neighbours so that together we can build a more FireSmart and resilient community.

We look forward to growing this event and making next year's Wildfire Preparedness Day even bigger and better.
