A HUGE shoutout to this local business (and neighbor) for the support time and time again!

A huge thank you to Alan and the amazing team at Nanaimo Hospice Shoppe for their incredibly generous donation of a mobility scooter to one of our Social Prescribing clients, Troy.
Over the past year, Troy has been working closely with his Community Connector, Amber Knapman, to create a personalized care plan focused on improving his health, well-being, and connection to the community by addressing the Social Determinants of Health.
For the past six months, Amber has been searching for the right mobility scooter to help Troy regain his independence. When the perfect scooter arrived at Hospice Shoppe Thrift Store, Alan and his team invited us to come and have a look. To our surprise and delight, they generously offered to donate it to Troy.
There wasn't a dry eye in the room as Troy realized he would once again have the freedom to get out into the community, attend appointments, connect with others, and enjoy life with greater independence.
Moments like these remind us of the incredible impact that kindness and community partnerships can have on someone's life.
