Rotary Club of Nanaimo is where neighbors, friends, and problem-solvers share ideas, join leaders and take action to create lasting change. We meet at 12 p.m.

Each day, our members pour their passion into projects that have a lasting impact. We are roughly 65 professional and business men and women dedicated to improving our community as well as communities around the world. on most Fridays at the Nanaimo Golf Club. Members enjoy Rotary fellowship over lunch which is followed by a short business meeting and a guest speaker. The meetings conclude at 1:30 p.m. We also have one virtual meeting a month and one evening social a month. Visit our website for more details: https://portal.clubrunner.ca/387/page/our-meetings-and-events

Members support some of our projects directly with their time, expertise and effort and others indirectly by donations. Fundraising is used to carry out the good work of Rotary in our community and internationally. Our major fund raiser is our Used Book Sale held in the spring and fall. The majority of the proceeds from our fundraisers go directly to our community with a smaller portion going to international projects. Members also donate to Rotary Foundation which supports Local and International Projects, the largest being the Eradication of Polio worldwide. We can be contacted by mail or email

If you stopped by this week, share your favourite finds in the comments or tag us in a photo. We’d love to see what made it into your stack.

📚 What an amazing opening weekend at the Rotary Book Sale! Thank you to everyone who has already come out to shop, and to the volunteers who make the sale possible.

Every book purchased helps us give back to our community. This year, the Rotary Club of Nanaimo presented five student awards through the Nanaimo-Ladysmith Schools Foundation. 🎓

The awards were given in honour of our former District Governor and Past President, Dr. Ross White. With the assistance of Kathy Smith, two of Dr. White’s children took part in the presentation ceremony, making the occasion especially meaningful.

For the students receiving them, these awards are more than practical support. They recognize what each student has accomplished and offer a meaningful vote of confidence as they take their next steps.

It is only through the continued success of the Rotary Book Sale, and the tremendous community support behind it, that we can continue making contributions like these.

The sale continues through Sunday, October 4. Come find your next great read and help us keep investing in our community.
