On June 15, 2026 Level 3 outdoor watering restrictions will come into effect for customers in North Cedar Improvement District (NCID) Water Service Area. Please note in Level 3 lawn watering and the use of sprinklers/irrigation is only permitted one day a week, even numbered houses on Thursday and odd numbered houses on Monday. The Province of BC currently lists Eastern Vancouver Island at Drought Level 3 due to abnormally dry conditions and low snow pack. June has seen very little rainfall and that, combined with a below-average snowpack, has pushed the region into drought conditions. Water flow in the region’s creeks and streams is low, and fire risk is a concern for the rest of the summer if the dry weather persists. Conserving water now ensures we have what we need for essential household use, fire protection, stream flows for fish and irrigation purposes.

Our water is a shared resource, thank you for doing your part!

Watering restrictions can be viewed at www.ncid.ca or teamwatersmart.ca.
