Nanoose Bay Fire Department

Nanoose Bay is located on the central east coast of Vancouver Island.

The Nanoose Fire Protection District covers approximately 36 sq miles which is made up of forest land and a unique wild land / urban interface. The Nanoose Volunteer Fire Department is currently made up of ~30 dedicated men and women from all walks of life. We responded to 300+ calls in 2010 that consisted of Medical Emergencies, Motor Vehicle Accidents, Structure Fires, Chimney Fires, Grass and B

ush Fires, Vehicle Heavy Equipment and Boat Fires, Flammable and Combustible Fuel Leaks, Compressed Gas Leaks, and Dangerous Goods Spills.

Lieutenant Rob Fell has returned home safely. We are thankful for his service.
Deputy Chief Denis Holme has joined Captain Cody Nielsen and they have been deployed to the Pear Lake Wild Fire near Clinton.

⭐️⭐️⭐️GRAND OPENING!⭐️⭐️⭐️

Today marks an exciting milestone for our communities with the grand opening of our new firefighter training facility!🚒

This project was made possible through a strong partnership between the Nanoose Bay Fire Department and Lantzville Fire Rescue. A special thank you to Deputy Chief Denis Holme and Lantzville Fire Chief Neil Rukus for their vision, leadership, and dedication in bringing this facility to life.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to Directors Lehann Wallace and Bob Rogers, the Regional District of Nanaimo Regional Board, UBCM, and the Pacific Shores Ownership Group for their generous support and investment in firefighter training and public safety.

Together, we are building stronger, safer communities for years to come. 🚒👏
