This rain-fed raised garden bed turned out to be much simpler to build than it seems.
I constructed a long planter box from basic lumber, lined the interior to make it watertight, and attached it to the home’s downspout so the plants receive water every time it rains.
A layer of gravel at the top improves drainage, while the deeper section below is packed with nutrient-rich soil for growing herbs and vegetables.
