The mission of the Cadet Program is to contribute to the development and preparation of youth for the transition to adulthood, enabling them to meet the cha

llenges of modern society, through a dynamic, community-based program. The vision of the Cadet Program is a relevant, credible and proactive youth development organization, offering the program of choice for Canada’s youth, preparing them to become the leaders of tomorrow through a set of fun, challenging, well-organized and safe activities. The Oso Negro Coffee fundraiser is back! Help support your local Air Cadets and the 561 Nelson Osprey Squadron. We are selling 3/4lb bags of Oso negro Coffee to raise money that will go towards supporting cadet training and activities that will help our cadets develop skills in leadership, citizenship, and physical and mental fitness.

We are selling Meteor Blend Dark Roast and the Full Original Blend Medium Roast for $19.00/bag. For every bag sold, the Squadron receives $6.25!

A little late, however, we had our annual Mess Dinner with 81 RCSCC Hampton Gray on 13 December 2025.

Thank you to our guests, RCMP Inspector Badry, Salmo Legion rep Steve MacDonald and Nelson Legion rep Wayne Vienneau.

Big thank you to the cadets and staff who participated and made for a fun evening! I even got called out and had to sing I'm a Little Teapot (I don't think there is any photo or video evidence 😏)

And a huge, HUGE, thank you to our wonderful SSC and parents who put on yet another fantastic meal!

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to everyone. Hope everyone has a fun, joyful, and safe holiday season!

Just in time for Christmas!
We are pleased to announce that the Osprey 561 Fundraising Committee has partnered with No6 Coffee for our next Fundraiser. No6 Coffee is generously offering the 3/4lb whole bean bags of the Rabbit Hole blend for $23/bag.

The Rabbit Hole blend is a classic, medium/light roast of coffee that has a sweet, nutty, medium body with notes of chocolate, honey, cherry & oak. The beans are a 50/50 blend from Columbia Cauca Sotara and Nicaragua Finca Pradera.

Money raised will go towards supporting cadet training and activities that will help our cadets develop skills in leadership, citizenship, and physical and mental fitness.
