BOOK NOW -S100/S185 fire suppression training to safely protect your home, work as a BC contract wildland firefighter or work in the BC forest industry.

Our 2 day S100/S185 training meets the WorkSafe & BCWS regulatory requirements to fight fire in BC.

It is also great training for individuals living in or near interface areas that provides valuable knowledge and skills to safely manage & plan around your home & respond to an encroaching wildfire.

June 5,6 2025 for a full 2 days of training with instructor Doug Harrison of Apex (30+ years of experience instructing & fighting wildfires).

Apex is offering a 2-day course March 24,25 2025, covering chainsaw safety and maintenance, including hands-on training and equipment maintenance.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own saws for personalized maintenance, usage & instruction.

The course includes supplied equipment such as chainsaws, fuel, tools, hardhat, chaps and gloves.

Participants must provide their own sturdy work boots, outdoor work clothing, food, and water.

Apex is offering our next course April 27,28 2024 at our Heddle Rd. training facility.

Course hours are from 8am- 5pm each day.
This 2-day course covers many aspects of chainsaw use, with a focus on Maintenance & Safe Operating skills.
It is preferred that participants supply all their own PPE consisting of;
1. Hardhat, faceshield, earmuffs
2. Safety glasses
3. Chainsaw pants or chaps with a minimum
3600 chain speed rating
4. Gloves
5. Work boots with 8” uppers or caulk boots
6. High visibility shirt or vest
7. Safety Whistle
8. Personal first aid kit

Apex can supply chaps, hardhats High Vis shirts, whistles & personal first aid kits on a case by case basis.

It is preferred that participants supply their own saws, tools & files, however Apex can also supply these items.

Please let us know what items you may need us to supply.

Participants will complete both a written exam & a field evaluation in order to achieve a certificate.

The written exam is given to the participants at the conclusion of the classroom presentation on Day 1.
The field evaluation occurs on Day 2 & requires a minimum of 80% to pass.
The field evaluation results combined with the results of the written exam must average a minimum of 70% for the participant to pass the course.
