Thinking about improving your driveway?

Did you know that the Village of New Denver has a Driveway Paving Policy in place? The policy outlines the requirements and approval process for paving driveway connections between private property and municipal roads. Property owners must obtain written approval from the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) before any work begins.

Before starting your project, be sure to review the policy below and ensure your plans comply with Village requirements.

High Water & Fast-Moving Creek Advisory

Conditions are changing rapidly. Please take note of these vital safety precautions:

- Secure Your Boats: Pull watercraft up far enough to withstand storm waves. Loose boats waste critical time and emergency service resources.

- Watch for Debris When Boating: Floating logs and debris are major hazards. Many lie just beneath the surface and are completely invisible.

- Stay Back from Banks: Keep well away from creek edges. Eroded banks can collapse instantly, and falling into the fast-moving water is highly likely to be fatal.

Please stay aware, look out for each other, and play safe!

Bear Alert – Village of New Denver

There have been multiple bear sightings within the Village of New Denver. Please take extra precautions to secure your garbage until collection day. Bears are gaining access to storage areas in search of food, which increases the risk of human-wildlife conflicts.

Residents are encouraged to:

* Keep garbage indoors or in a secure, bear-resistant container
* Put garbage out only on the morning of collection
* Clean bins regularly to reduce odours
* Remove other attractants such as pet food, bird seed, and unclean BBQs

Your cooperation helps keep both the community and local wildlife safe.

Bear sightings/issues are to be reported directly to 1-877-952-7277.
