2026 GENERAL LOCAL ELECTION

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN AS FOLLOWS:

LIST OF REGISTERED ELECTORS

Beginning Tuesday, September 1, 2026, until the close of general voting for the election on Saturday, October 17, 2026, a copy of the list of registered electors will be available for public inspection at the Village of New Denver Office, 115 Slocan Avenue, New Denver, during regular office hours.

An elector may request that personal information respecting the elector be omitted from or obscured on the list of registered electors.

An objection to the registration of a person as an elector may be made in accordance with the Local Government Act before 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026.

NOTICE OF NOMINATION

Nominations for the offices of:

ONE (1) MAYOR AND FOUR (4) COUNCILLORS

will be received by the Chief Election Officer or a designated election official as follows:

CAMPAIGN PERIOD EXPENSE LIMITS

In accordance with the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act, for the 2026 General Local Election, the following expense limits for candidates during the campaign period apply:

MAYOR: $12,323.78
COUNCILLOR: $6,161.89

THIRD-PARTY ADVERTISING LIMITS

In accordance with the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act, for the 2026 General Local Election, the following third-party advertising limits apply:

Directed third-party advertising limit for New Denver: $924.28
Cumulative third-party advertising expense limit: $184,856.70

2026 Local Government Election: Voter Registration Reminder

Resident electors who want to be included on the Provincial Voters List used for the Village of New Denver election should register or update their information with Elections BC by Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

Eligible electors who are not on the list may still register when voting.
