Pictou County Injured Workers Pictou County Injured Workers' Association ( PCIWA ) is a not for profit association providing support and assistance to injured workers and their families.

Founded in 1992, our association advocates for change to the workers' compensation system to ensure it maintains consistency with its founding principles which include compensation regardless of fault, the total cost of the system being shared by all employers, the assurance and security of prompt compensation and future benefits, and the Board being a neutral third party administrator which is autonomous and non-political.

If you have been injured at work you should attend these meetings even if your case is over. Your support could help someone who is just begining their journey of navigating the process.

The meetings have been having a very poor turnout we would like to change that.

The Day of Mourning ceremony is tonight at 6pm trenton park. Tvis is a ceremony to support those injured or passed due to work place injury. All are welcome, wreaths will be laid and there will be some speakers. We cannot co trol the weather please dress weather accordingly.

Please come to show your support for injured workers and family of injured workers. As well as the work that Mary and Larry put forward to help us all. Even if your claim is closed your support to others is greatly appreciated.

Meeting numbers have been extremly low the last few meetings like 12 people lets change that.
