If you live in Area B (Kitwanga, Hazelton area) or use the Kitwanga Transfer Station, we want your input! 📣

RDKS is approaching the end of it's five-month Kitwanga pilot program for the adjusted operating hours. They would now like to gather feedback from residents and facility users on their experience with the new hours.

The feedback received will help determine whether to keep the new operating hours or return to the previous operating hours.

City West is currently down making us limited on the transactions we are able to do. In addition, everything is cash only at this time. We will update when we hear more. Public Notice is given to the electors of the District of New Hazelton that a general local election will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026 to elect (1) Mayor and (6) Councillors.

Nominations for qualified candidates will be received during regular office hours, excluding statutory holidays and weekends, from 9:00am Tues, Sept 1, 2026 to 4:00pm Fri, Sept 11, 2026:
