Main Street is more than a collection of businesses. It is a hub, a community, a place to connect.
They support your kids sports team, a local charity, and emerging artists.
Reposted from Ontario Small Business Community | Event | Resource | Support π¨π¦ We see and hear it all the time. People talking about how nice and vibrant their downtown is. We see people proudly bragging about living in trendy neighbourhoods, or neighbourhoods with lots of places to eat and shop. We see people celebrating about the main street they live near and everything it has to offer.
But you know what we donβt see enough of? People actually shopping at, eating at and supporting the very same small businesses that are the reason they want to live where they do.
Those businesses are what create the character, convenience and vibrancy people love about their communities. You canβt talk about how great your downtown, main street or neighbourhood is while ignoring the small businesses that make it great. If we want those places to stay busy, interesting and full of life, we have to actually show up for the businesses that make them that way.
Your downtown, main street and neighbourhood are only places you want to live because small businesses opened their doors and gave the community somewhere to gather, shop and connect.
Less conversation about how great your downtown, main street, and neighbourhood is and more action, action by way of doing your part to keep to keep it great.
