Horses At Heart

Horses At Heart "Horses helping Humans helping Horses"
Horses at Heart Therapeutic Equestrian Adventures Inc. has been a non-profit registered organization since 2004.

Horses at Heart is situated at WaterStone Estate & Farms, 100 acre beautiful property in King Township. We have partnered with many organizations to help children, youth and families achieve their therapeutic goals and to promote personal development, mutually respectful relationships, and to enjoy the many benefits of horseback riding and horsemanship training. Among the organizations that we hav

e provided programming for are: Blue Hills Child and Family Services, Toronto Police 32 Division 'Gallop to Greatness', Big Brothers Big Sisters of York Region, Children's Aid Society of York Region, Girls Inc. of York Region, York Region Autism Centre, Autism Ontario. One of our most popular programs is the Back In The Saddle Program that is a Employment Re-integration Program. Designed for individuals who are looking to return to the workplace after absences due to mental health issues, this new program equips participants with job success readiness. Through both support sessions and hands-on horse and barn care at a Newmarket-King Township horse farm, training will be provided to master and maintain healthy and rewarding employment skills which in turn will provide strengths in both personal and inter-personal growth and awareness. Participants are referred to this program by Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) and we are expanding the participant application opportunities to include other referring organizations. The 2014 Pilot Program was funded by Ontario Trillium Foundation. To learn more about all the programs we have to offer, visit us at our website at horsesatheart.com

Meet the Team: Hollie 🌟

Hollie has been a dedicated part of the WaterStone team for 8 years and serves as a facilitator for our mental health programs at Horses at Heart at WaterStone Riding School. She holds a diploma in Social Service Work, a degree in Psychology, and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Psychotherapy.

Hollie’s love for horses began in her teenage years and she rediscovered that passion when she joined Horses at Heart in 2018.

You can find Hollie on the farm facilitating our riding programs, working in the barn, or handling horses for wedding photo shoots—especially with our stunning stud, Scout (pictured above). 🐴💙

She’s deeply passionate about her work, the participants she helps, the amazing staff and of course her equine coworkers who play an essential role in the work we do.

Hollie’s expertise and heartfelt care for both people and horses make her an invaluable member of our team!

Everyone, meet Tootles! 🐴💛 This sweet grey mare is one of our gentle teachers here at WaterStone. She reminds us that riding isn’t just about time in the saddle—it starts with trust, patience, and connection in the barn. ✨
