🔥 WILDFIRE SMOKE ADVISORY — NIAGARA FALLS 🔥

Wildfire smoke is expected to affect Niagara Falls and the surrounding area over the next 72 hours. Hazy skies, reduced visibility, and periods of deteriorating air quality are possible through Friday.

Niagara residents should:

• Monitor the Air Quality Health Index before spending extended periods outdoors.
• Reduce or reschedule strenuous outdoor activities when smoke levels are elevated.
• Keep windows and doors closed when possible and use air conditioning on recirculation.
• Check on children, older adults and anyone with asthma, heart disease or other respiratory conditions.

Conditions can change quickly depending on wind direction. Continue monitoring Environment Canada and local air-quality reports for the latest information.

Wishing all our friends and neighbours in the community a very happy Canada Day!

On Monday night, Station #6 was proud to host the graduation of the 2026 Niagara Falls Volunteer Recruit Class.

These 11 recruits have spent the past six months learning the fundamentals of firefighting, including fire suppression, search and rescue, medical response, and auto extrication. The class also challenged the NFPA 1001 Level I and II Firefighter exams, as well as the NFPA 1035 Public Education exam.

The recruits will now report to their respective stations: Station #4 in Chippawa, Station #5 in Willoughby, and Station #6.

Congratulations again to all of the recruits, and best wishes for a long, safe, and rewarding career in the fire service.
