The Town of Niverville would like to make residents aware that starting Thursday, September 3rd, 2026, at 7:00 AM, a portion of Claremont Drive will be closed. This closure is to facilitate the installation of a generator and panel as part of the Claremont Lift Station Upgrade.

This closure is expected to last no longer than the end of the day. Access to residents’ driveways will not be affected by this closure.

Please be aware that the project and its time frame are subject to change without warning due to the weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Below is a map showing the project location and affected areas.

Please respect traffic control signs and delineators, as they are in place to keep residents safe and to complete the project as efficiently as possible. Flexibility and understanding will be required while this project proceeds, as there are many factors that influence when access will be available or not.

The Town of Niverville is thankful for your patience and understanding as we work to provide you with safer roads for you and your families.

Starting as early as Wednesday, September 2nd, 2026, at 9:00 AM, municipal water will be shut off for 10 – 37 Dochart Gate to facilitate new municipal water connections. Starting as early as Thursday, September 3rd, 2026, at 9:00 AM, municipal water will be shut off for 20 Drovers Run for the same reason.

This work is expected to take at least 4-6 hours. Once these connections have been made, water will be restored. If, for any reason, the new connection takes longer, Town staff will attempt to reach out to notify affected properties.

As the shut-off of municipal water means a loss of pressure in the affected water mains, a precautionary boil water advisory will also be issued for 10 – 37 Dochart Gate and 20 Drovers Run. Please see the attached document to this post for further information on this boil water advisory. Due to the requirements put in place by the Province for water testing after a loss of pressure, this advisory will be in effect for about 48 hours, provided there are no complications.

During this repair, please respect all traffic control signs and delineators, as they are in place to keep residents safe and to complete the repair as efficiently as possible. If there are affected residents with concerns regarding this repair, please let the Town of Niverville know as soon as possible so that we can plan accordingly.

The Town of Niverville is thankful for your patience and understanding as we work to quickly and efficiently make these new connections.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please feel free to contact the Town of Niverville at [email protected] or by phone at 204-388-4600.

The Town of Niverville is aware that MB Hydro is currently removing and trimming trees around power lines in our community.

While we understand the importance of removing hazards around power lines, we are saddened by the significant and sudden loss of tree canopy in our community.

We ask any residents with concerns regarding tree trimming and removal to reach out to either MB Hydro or our local MLA directly.

Council may have had only one meeting this month, but they were able to pack in five different public hearings for conditional use applications.

Some other highlights include:

- Council approved a policy outlining the Public Access to Computers and Internet Services Terms of Use for Niverville's Take One Leave One Library.
- Council, after a public hearing, passed a bylaw to rezone 223 3rd Street South to Educational and Institutional.
- Council passed a Bylaw widening part of PR 311 to accommodate the future roundabout.
And more!

Last Month at Council (or LMAC for short) is designed to give residents and ratepayers of the Town of Niverville a quick look at what Council passed and approved over the last month, with helpful descriptions of terms that may not be common knowledge.

08/18/2026

Over the past year, the Town of Niverville have been working on mapping and cataloguing all of our infrastructure to evaluate their condition, any potential risks they may have, and how they may be impacted by an increasingly more volatile climate, including doing a community survey last fall. All this work has resulted in a Climate Adaptation Plan with suggested recommendations to improve the resiliency of our community and its infrastructure.

Community feedback on these recommendations is key, so we want to invite all residents to view and discuss them at our Climate Adaptation Plan Open House on Thursday, August 20th, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at the Niverville Community Resource & Recreation Centre! This is a come-and-go event with no formal agenda.

We look forward to seeing you there!
