Today is Pink Shirt Day. Pink Shirt Day Canada is an initiative of the WITS Foundation, a Canadian charitable organization with the mission to create safe environments for children and youth.
But did you know, it was started in Berwick, Nova Scotia in 2007 after a student was bullied for wearing a pink shirt? Two grade 12 students witnessed this and that night purchased 75 pink t-shirts to hand out at school the next day. Let's continue to support and promote kindness, inclusivity and safe spaces for everyone.
