🇨🇦 October is Women’s History Month.

The 2nd Battalion, Irish Regiment of Canada honours the women whose courage, leadership and commitment have helped shape Canada’s military history.

We celebrate those who opened doors for others, those who serve alongside us today, and the next generation preparing to answer the call. Their contributions strengthen our Regiment, the Canadian Army and the communities we serve.

This month, we recognize their achievements, reflect on their legacy and reaffirm our commitment to ensuring every member has the opportunity to contribute and lead.

☘️ We remember. We recognize. We celebrate.

Individual Battle Task Standard (IBTS) training takes more than just the soldiers on the firing line.

Working the butts - raising, lowering, marking, and resetting targets to keep the range moving.

Everyone supports the training, then get their opportunity to put rounds on target and stay current on their qualifications.

On 4 May 2026, The Algonquin Regiment and Welburg Netherlands celebrate the day of the dead, a day of remembrance for those who died fighting for freedom in the Netherlands during the battle of Scheldt, the battle of Welburg, and the liberation of Steenbergen.

A wreath ceremony and a bell ringing took place. In attendance was the 22 Wing Commander from CFB North Bay, as well as members of the public. They brought symbolic flowers which will eventually be replaced by a flower bed to be set up behind the bell.
