It is with profound sadness and utmost respect that we remember the life of Capt (Ret'd) Rita Patry. A lifelong dedication to service lead Rita through many challenges and honours, including multiple decades of service to our 204 Algonquin Cadet Corps. Rita had a profound impact on our corps, cadets, and staff, and we will forever be grateful for her dedication to us. A number of years ago there was an award named in her honour, which included the presentation of the COs challenge coin, of which Rita, fittingly, was presented with the first, number 001.
Rita came to the annual reviews whenever she was able and took time to stop and talk to cadets and staff during community events such as various Remembrance day services, community tagging, or anywhere else she saw them. She was an advocate for the cadet program and a champion of the youth (and adults) involved. We will miss you dearly, and Lest We Forget your service and dedication. Thank you, ma'am.
