Exciting news! Trevor Poirier is running as your NSNDP candidate in Chéticamp – Margarees – Pleasant Bay!

Trevor Poirier travaille comme assistant en réadaptation au Foyer Père Fiset. Il est président de la section 2031 du Syndicat des travailleurs en soins de longue durée SCFP, qui est actuellement en grève pour réclamer des salaires équitables au gouvernement de Tim Houston.

Trevor détient un baccalauréat en sciences avec spécialisation en chimie de l’Université St. Francis Xavier. Il a également des diplômes comme assistant en soins de longue durée, assistant en ergothérapie et assistant en physiothérapie, et il a travaillé à l’hôpital Inverness Consolidated Memorial, dans le service de chirurgie de la hanche et du genou.

Il est né et a grandi dans le village acadien de Chéticamp, et il est très attaché à sa communauté et à son esprit de solidarité. Il est bénévole au sein du Conseil de santé communautaire et il adore jouer au pickleball dès qu’il en a l’occasion. Il est toujours prêt à discuter avec les gens.

Trevor Poirier works as a rehabilitation assistant at the Foyer Pere Fiset. He is the President of Long-term Care Workers CUPE Local 2031, which is currently on strike fighting for fair wages from the Tim Houston government.

Trevor holds a Bachelor's Degree in Science and a Major in Chemistry from St. Francis Xavier. He has diplomas as a Continuing Care Assistant, Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant and he previously worked at the Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital in the hip and knee clinic.

He was born and raised in the Acadian village of Chéticamp and loves his community and the way everyone looks out for each other. He volunteers as part of the Community Health Board and loves to play pickleball at any chance given. He is always open to conversation.

Groceries are already too expensive. 🙅‍♀️

Grocery chains shouldn't be able to hike the price of the same item based on your personal data, block new grocery stores from opening, or stop smaller stores from selling fresh food. But right now they can.

Today we're forcing debate on two NSNDP bills that would help lower grocery prices by banning these harmful practises in Nova Scotia.

Under the Houston government, Nova Scotians are paying more and getting less. Costs are rising, rent keeps climbing, and home ownership remains out of reach.

Nova Scotians don’t ask for much. They just want to be able to afford groceries and the basics. If the Houston government were serious about affordability, they would act.

Our legislation also keeps more money in Nova Scotians’ pockets by protecting rewards points and treating them like gift cards that can’t expire and creating stronger warranties for common electronics and household appliances.
