It is with heavy hearts that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of Debbie Bond, a longtime and beloved member of the Haley Street family.
Debbie came to Haley Street well over two decades ago and had an indelible influence on the development of our organization’s culture. When somebody needed an advocate, Debbie was there. When somebody needed an attentive ear or advice, Debbie was there. And if somebody needed a hand, Debbie would drop everything and be there in a minute.

Debbie did not know the meaning of the word “retirement.” Even after officially retiring, she continued to volunteer at Haley Street for another five years, giving her time, energy, and heart to the organization she loved until her illness made it no longer possible.

And even then, Debbie could not stay away. Throughout her illness, she continued to visit regularly, checking in on everyone, making sure we were all doing our jobs, and keeping an eye on things to ensure everything was running smoothly. That was Debbie—always caring, always checking in, and always looking out for others.

Debbie was truly a rare gem—a one-in-a-million person who left an unforgettable mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her kindness, generosity, loyalty, and unwavering commitment to others were qualities that made her truly one of a kind. There will never be another Debbie.

Her influence on our team members, staff, and the entire Haley Street family will remain with us always. We will carry her memory forward in the way we care for one another, support one another, and show up for those who need us—just as Debbie always did.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Debbie’s family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

She will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever a part of the Haley Street family.

A sneak peek at some of our auction items going to be at the Haley Street Festival tomorrow. Come by, bid and have some fun from 11-4 centre North Sydney!

Due to the level of interest in forming teams for our planned floor hockey event, we’ve decided to take the event in a slightly new direction and turn it into a full community festival!

The purpose stays the same: bringing people together while supporting adults with disabilities in our community.

What an incredible weekend at the 1st Annual Haley Street Society Softball Tournament!

We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success. From our amazing volunteers, players, sponsors, families, friends, and community members, your support meant the world to us.

A special thank you to Florence Community Fields for hosting us and helping create a great atmosphere for all involved.

Congratulations to our tournament champions:

🏆 Men’s Division – Harlem Heat

The turnout, sportsmanship, and community spirit shown throughout the weekend were truly inspiring. We are so grateful for everyone who came out, participated, cheered from the sidelines, donated, and supported Haley Street Society.

This was our first tournament, and thanks to all of you, it exceeded our expectations. We are already looking forward to making next year even bigger and better!
