*One-Time Volunteer Opportunity*
We have a couple of opportunities for groups to lend a hand after Thanksgiving! Gather your coworkers, classmates, friends or community group to help sort food collected through our community’s Thanksgiving food drives.
October 13–16
Shifts available between 10am and 4pm

Thank you to the Handsworth Takes Action Club for organizing this Thanksgiving food drive, and to everyone contributing! Your generosity reaches neighbours across the North Shore.
Where does food donated to Harvest Project go?
💚 Our onsite Grocery Depot, where clients enrolled in our program choose food for their households as part of the holistic support Harvest Project provides.
💚 We share donated food with our Emergency Food Program partner, St. Andrews United Church, to support neighbours who need food assistance, but may not need the holistic support offered by Harvest Project.
💚 North Vancouver Community Dinner, where donated ingredients help bring a free community meal to life each month.
💚 Other local agencies, when we receive more of an item than we can use, or large quantities that are better shared.
Every food donation to Harvest Project contributes to a more food-secure North Shore.

A big thank you to the Orchid Club (蘭馨社) for organizing a clothing and accessories drive for Harvest Project!
Founded in 1991, the Orchid Club is a longstanding North Shore organization that brings Taiwanese women and families together through social, cultural and recreational activities, while giving back to the community.
Their generous donations will help keep the racks at our Clothes for Change boutique stocked - where shopping makes a difference in more ways than one.
Come shop with us! Clothes for Change is open to everyone, with all revenue supporting Harvest Project programs. Clothing is always free for Harvest Project clients. (Hours: Tuesday to Friday 10am-4pm + Saturday 10am-2pm).

A fresh team photo!
These are most of the faces behind Harvest Project - the staff who work each day to support North Shore neighbours through challenging times.
But this photo only tells part of the story.
Alongside our staff are 130 weekly volunteers who give their time throughout our organization. Quite simply, we couldn’t do what we do without them.
We’re pretty fortunate to have this team - and there’s generally room for more people who want to get involved.

A shared meal can be a simple way to connect with neighbours.

We’re continuing to partner with North Vancouver Community Dinner and St. Andrew’s United Church for the monthly community dinner. Everyone is welcome to enjoy a free meal and spend time together.

Harvest Project provides ingredients for the main course, and our partners bring the gathering to life. There’s a place for everyone at the table.

The next dinner is this Saturday, from 3:30pm-5:00pm at St.Andrew’s United Church.

A big thank you to École Cleveland Elementary for once again hosting its annual Harvest to Table event.

Students collected homegrown produce from families and neighbours and turned their school into a lively community market - learning about food, local growing, generosity, and what can happen when people work together.

This year’s market raised an incredible $760, with proceeds generously shared with Harvest Project to support people right here on the North Shore.

We love seeing young people experience community care in action. Thank you to the students, staff, families, and neighbours who contributed produce, shopped the market, and helped make the day such a success.

This is what neighbours helping neighbours looks like - and it’s something pretty special about the North Shore!

We’re excited to celebrate Leanne Terrace, an early supporter of Harvest Project, as she launches her first book this Thursday evening in Lynn Valley Village!
Leanne is turning her book launch into a gift to our community: $2 from every book sold will be donated to Harvest Project, up to $2,000 in 2026 and again in 2027.
Date/Time: Thursday, September 17, 5:30–7:30 pm
Location: Lynn Valley Village Community Room (next to the library)
Enjoy drinks and appetizers and celebrate the launch of Built to Think: Build Teams That Solve Problems, Without Waiting for Permission - In the Age of AI.
Drawing on 30 years of experience working with business owners and team leaders, as well as founding three companies of her own, Leanne explores how to build teams that are empowered to think, solve problems, and move forward in the age of AI.
Please join Leanne and her book team for a wonderful evening of celebration and community - while supporting Harvest Project at the same time!

Our Emergency Food Program, in partnership with Harvest Project, will continue all year. (It was originally scheduled to take a break after Sept 29).

Drop by on Tuesday mornings (10 - 11 am) to pick up non-perishables. No ID required -- all are welcome!
