The North Vancouver RCMP is located in the heart of North Vancouver, which is situated on the North Shore of the Port of Vancouver, on Burrard Inlet, across from downtown Vancouver and Stanley Park. North Vancouver is located on the unceded traditional territory territory of the Coast Salish peoples, including the territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. North Vancouver is comprised of two municipalities, the City of North Vancouver and the District of North Vancouver, and five First Nations Bands. The District of North Vancouver surrounds the City, however, North Vancouver is policed as one whole area. The North Vancouver RCMP polices four of the reserves and the fifth is policed by the West Vancouver Police Department. The North Vancouver RCMP is committed to building a safer community through partnerships with local businesses, residents, government and First Nations agencies. Police cautioning public about phoney peace officer scam

The North Vancouver RCMP is warning the public about a scam involving an individual impersonating a peace officer and threatening legal consequences over alleged missed court appearances.

Between October 7 and October 14, 2026, police received three reports involving a caller claiming to be from the “Vancouver Sheriff’s Office.” The caller states the recipient has missed a court appearance and may be arrested or held in contempt of court if they do not act immediately. In one instance the caller demanded cash to settle the alleged matter, threatening potential jail time to pressure the recipient into making a payment.

Investigators have confirmed that neither the name nor the phone number used to contact each recipient is associated with the justice system. No financial losses have been reported in the incidents brought to police attention.

“Scammers use fear and the threat of legal consequences to pressure people into making decisions without taking the time to verify what's happening,” said Cst. Paul Reece of the North Vancouver RCMP. “If you receive a call like this, don't rush into acting or making a payment. Contact the appropriate office directly using an official phone number to verify the information.”

Here are some additional guidelines to follow to help prevent being victimized:

- Don't be afraid to hang up or say no
- Do your research

Never give out personal information such as:

- Your name
- Your address
- Your birthdate
- Your Social Insurance Number (SIN)
- Your credit card or banking information

Remember: if you didn't initiate the call, you don't know who you're talking to.

This week, we’re proud to host the Women’s Tactical Advancement Workshop (W-TAC) in .

The new pilot initiative brings together women and gender-diverse RCMP officers from across the country who are interested in specialized and tactical policing roles.

Over the course of the workshop, participants are getting hands-on experience, connecting with officers already working in specialized roles and learning more about the paths available to them, including what it takes to pursue these opportunities.

We’re pleased to be part of an initiative that helps officers see what’s possible in their careers and prepare for what comes next.

Police investigating series of assaults targeting individuals through dating app

The North Vancouver RCMP is investigating a series of assaults involving victims who were allegedly invited to meet through the Grindr dating application and subsequently confronted by groups of young people.

Two separate incidents were reported to police on August 27 and August 31, 2026. In both instances, victims reported that they had been communicating with an individual through Grindr and agreed to meet in person. Upon arrival, both victims were confronted by groups of young people and assaulted or threatened. Both incidents also involved damage to the victims’ vehicles.

Upon reviewing CCTV footage believed to be related to these incidents, investigators have identified a third assault that occurred on August 29 near Ross Road Elementary School. That incident had not previously been reported to police and investigators are working to identify the victim and people involved.

Based on the circumstances and evidence gathered to date, investigators believe all three incidents are likely connected.

“We are deeply concerned by these incidents and are pursuing all available avenues to identify those responsible,” said Cst. Paul Reece of the North Vancouver RCMP. “We encourage anyone with information or video that could assist our investigation to contact police.”

The North Vancouver RCMP’s Serious Crimes Unit is conducting an extensive CCTV canvass in the areas where the assaults occurred. Police are asking anyone who may have relevant CCTV or dash-camera footage from the areas and dates in question to contact investigators. This includes anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity or captured footage in the vicinity of:

- Eldon Park on August 27;
- Ross Road Elementary School on August 29; or
- Lynn Valley Elementary School on August 31.

Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour residential school survivors and remember the children who never made it home.

Yesterday we were honoured to take part in a ceremony at the Strength & Remembrance Pole to hear from survivors and reaffirm our commitment to meaningful action every day.

This past weekend, we travelled to Victoria for the annual British Columbia Law Enforcement Memorial, joining colleagues and community members from across the province to honour those who lost their lives in service to others.

We remember their courage, their dedication and the lasting impact they left on their team members, loved ones and communities.

We’re honoured to remember them and stand alongside those who continue to carry their memory forward.

We were honoured to join RCMP members, veterans, families, friends and communities from across Canada at the RCMP National Memorial Service in Regina this past weekend.

Held each year on the second Sunday of September, the service honours the 251 RCMP members, civilian members, auxiliary members and special constables who lost their lives in the line of duty.

At our RCMP Depot Division cenotaph, we came together to remember their service, honour their sacrifice and ensure their legacy is never forgotten.

This morning, we were proud to welcome the Cops for Cancer - Tour de Coast riders as they kicked off their eight-day, 700-kilometre journey across Greater Vancouver in support of the Canadian Cancer Society.

We’re especially proud of Cst. McMillan and Cst. MacQueen, representing on their first Tour de Coast. After months of training and fundraising, they’re hitting the road to support children and families living with childhood cancer.
