NHFD Acknowledges the inter-agency wildfire response.

It’s been an exhausting weekend for our firefighters, we’re thankful for all the fire departments who answered our call for assistance. Our service coverage was stretched thin because of the danger this fire posed to our community.

With the help of The Pas Fire Department, Flin Flon Fire, Grand Rapids Fire, Cross Lake Fire, Office of the Fire Commissioner and the Manitoba Wildfire Service we were able to contain the Fort Island Fire and continue to provide a timely response to all the calls for service that came in.

We’d also like to acknowledge the Playgreen Development Corporation who were working to create a firebreak at the site. We thank you for your assistance, most importantly we’d like to thank those who made sure our firefighters were fed and hydrated. We were working in temperatures of excess 32+ degrees

Again thank you to everyone for their service and hard work.
