💜 Well-treatment of Elders 💜

Well-treatment is a value we strive to promote every day through respect, listening, and support for elders. But what about elder abuse? Often subtle and difficult to recognize, it can go unnoticed. However, certain signs can alert us and enable us to take action to protect the wellness, dignity, and safety of our elders.

Some behaviours and situations may signal a potential case of mistreatment. Five signs are especially important to watch for.

Being alert to these signs can help prevent elder abuse and ensure the wellness of our elders.

Have you witnessed a situation involving elder abuse or mistreatment?
✔️ Contact the police if the situation requires immediate intervention.
✔️ Contact your local Health Centre.
✔️ Call the Mistreatment Helpline at 1-888-489-2287.
