Oak Lake - Sifton Fire Department

Oak Lake - Sifton Fire Department The Oak Lake - Sifton Fire Department was started in 1920 under Chief Alex Jack.

In 1945 the department purchased its first pumper, some hose, smoke masks, and a resuscitator. We presently have a 1995 Superior pumper which carries 1000 gallons of water and is capable of delivering 1050 gallons per minute of water plus it has foam capabilities. The department is also equipped with a 1200 gallon tanker which is on a 1978 Dodge chassis. Recently we purchased a 2002 Rescue Unit wh

ich carries emergency equipment such as a generator, jaws of life, breathing apparatus, saws, water rescue equipment and assorted other tools.

Oak Lake Community,

The Oak Lake- Sifton Fire Department would like to send an open invitation to our community, asking everyone to join us in lighting it up blue for World Autism Month. April 2, thousands of iconic landmarks and buildings join the millions of homes and communities around the world to “light blue” in support of people living with autism. We hope our community can come together for another year of lighting our homes blue on this day and for the entire month of April. There are many adults and children in our community living with autism and we want them to know, our community supports them.

Please take the time and turn your outside light to a blue bulb and turn it on April 2. Spread love and kindness to our Autistic communities and their families. The more we can support and uplift our community, the stronger we all become.

We have some autism awareness ribbon pins available at the RM of Sifton town office starting April. 2nd for anyone who would like one, while supplies last!

Tonight we covered structural response, accountability, and search and rescue training.
