Flooding Update:

Credit Valley Conservation has issued a Flood Watch with reports of localized flooding in Halton Hills from the heavy rainfall today.

Know what to do if you experience basement flooding.

Visit halton.ca/flood for immediate steps to take and to report basement flooding online. To report street flooding, contact your local municipality.

Flood Watch: Credit Valley Conservation is upgrading its active flood outlook statement to a flood watch. Additional heavy rainfall between 5 and 15 mm is expected and risk of thunderstorms continues. CVC’s middle and lower watershed have already received local rainfall amounts between 50 and 70 mm, saturating soils and raising water levels in the Credit River and Lake Ontario tributaries. Back in February, a microtunnel boring machine—nicknamed “Drillbert” thanks to a naming contest we held with local schools—was lowered underground beneath Highway 407 to install a new, larger watermain.

State-of-good-repair work like this ensures our water and wastewater systems remain reliable and ready for the future.
