Staff Spotlight 🎉 Meet Jannie. She has worked at Sixtee Mile Sport Complex for 3 months. We asked Jannie a few questions to get to know her a little better. Check it out 👇

1️⃣ What do you enjoy about working in our Seniors Centres?
✅ I love helping people enrich their lives by finding what brings them joy. Whether it's making new social connections, discovering a new hobby, or gaining confidence through fitness and wellness, it's rewarding to see people become happier, healthier, and more connected.

2️⃣ What is your main hobby outside of work?
✅ Reading and Working out...also driving my kids to their hobbies (hockey).

3️⃣ What is your favourite program and/or event hosted by the Seniors Centres?
✅ Summer BBQ on the Patio - It was great to see everyone outside, gathering over food and conversation. The energy was just vibrant.

4️⃣ If you could live in any era, which would it be and why?
✅ The 70's for its music, movies, fashion and for its major historical events!

The Wellness Wheel

Join us at the Queen Elizabeth Park Older Adult Centre on September 30 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. for an engaging presentation on The Wellness Wheel.

Supplementing the medical paradigm, Acclaim Health’s Wellness Manager, Leanna Chan, will share a holistic view of health and wellness, exploring the many dimensions that contribute to a healthy and balanced life.

🌟 Thank You for Joining Us! 🌟

Thank you to everyone who attended the Seniors Services Open Fair on Tuesday! It was wonderful to meet so many community members and share the programs, services, and opportunities available for older adults through the Town of Oakville.

We were delighted to host the event at the beautiful Sixteen Mile Sports Complex, home to our newest Older Adult Centre location.

A special thank you to Amica Bronte Village for generously providing warm beverages for all participants. Your support helped make the day even more welcoming and enjoyable.
