🚒From Oakville to the world stage.🌍

This past week, members of the Oakville Fire Department Extrication Team put their skills to the test at the Holmatro Rescue World Challenge in Germany, competing alongside some of the top rescue teams from around the globe.

While the team earned an impressive 8th-place finish, the true victory is the knowledge, experience, and lessons learned that they are bringing home to benefit our community.

The Oakville Professional Firefighters Association, I.A.F.F. Local 1582, is incredibly proud of these members for their dedication to continuous learning and excellence in the fire service. Their commitment to honing their craft reflects the professionalism and pride that define Oakville firefighters.

Press Release: Statement on Line of Duty Death of OPP Provincial Constable Tarun Bali

It is with great sadness that we inform our Membership that OPP Provincial Constable Tarun Bali, Dufferin County Detachment, Central Region died in the line of duty today while working with the James Bay Detachment, North East Region.

The circumstances related to the line of duty death are under investigation by the OPP’s Criminal Investigation Branch.

Our thoughts are with the Member’s family, friends, and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time.

OPP Association President David Sabatini stated “This is every police and family member’s worst nightmare. This is another reminder of the dangers that our Members face each and every day as they serve and protect the citizens of Ontario. On behalf of the OPP Association, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Provincial Constable Bali’s family, friends and colleagues. We will steadfastly support PC Bali’s family and co-workers.”

🚒 Behind every emergency response is hours of training, teamwork, and preparation.

Today, we welcomed members of the Town of Oakville Executive Leadership Team to The Oakville Training Campus for Emergency Excellence for a behind-the-scenes look at firefighter training.

Our Training Officers and crews showcased a variety of demonstrations, giving our guests a firsthand glimpse into the skills, dedication, and constant readiness required to protect our community.

Thank you to the Town's leadership team for taking the time to see the work that goes into ensuring Oakville Fire is always ready when our residents need us most. 🔥🚒

The Ontario Professional Fire Fighters Association welcomes a significant step forward in supporting the mental health of Ontario’s first responders.
The creation of Ontario’s first Post-Traumatic Stress Injury Centre of Excellence marks important progress in ensuring firefighters and first responders have access to specialized care that reflects the realities of occupational trauma.
The OPFFA thanks 407 ETR and Runnymede Healthcare Centre for their leadership and commitment to addressing this critical issue. This investment represents meaningful progress toward a future where mental health care for first responders is recognized as essential, accessible, and specialized.
