The Traditional Powwow Committee is pleased to announce that this year’s Powwow, held on August 29th and 30th, will take place under a brand new, permanent arbour!

The crash involving an SUV and a motorcycle up the bay on the 344 west in front of Simon Rd has been cleared, and traffic is now flowing normally. Two individuals on the motorcycle were transported by ambulance for injuries. I would like to thank the KPS team, Oka Fire Department, First Nations paramedics, and police for their outstanding professionalism and dedication in aiding those involved and efficiently managing the crash scene.

Also, thank you Kanesatake residents for being first on scene and lending a hand until help arrived ,you all did amazing !

We are officially 10 days away from coming together to celebrate, eat and shop at the Kanehsatà:ke Traditional Powwow.

This year’s powwow will be a special weekend filled with beautiful Indigenous art, talented artisans, delicious food vendors, dancing, and drumming.

We’re excited to welcome everyone to Kanehsatà:ke to share in this celebration of Indigenous culture.
