✨Learning Beyond the Classroom Walls✨
We’re excited to unveil our new Outdoor Creativity Station! Thanks to the generous support of the Friends of the Foothills and their SPARK grant, we have added a permanent weather-resistant whiteboard to our outdoor classroom.

This exciting addition will help bring learning to life by creating opportunities for students to explore, collaborate, create, and problem-solve in nature.

Rainy days are so good for the garden, and there is always a lot going on! Some dedicated Dads worked hard to build our compost bins, bees were napping everywhere and the plants were happy for a big drink. Students have been enjoying the garden all week and you are welcome to join them. Drop in during our open hours or during the Fall Gathering to see what is growing!

A huge thank‑you to Mayor Thorn for joining us for the ribbon cutting and to all of our incredible sponsors and supporters who helped make this dream bloom — including the Okotoks Optimist Club, Whole Foods Market Foundation, Home Hardware Okotoks, DIRT Cheep, Pheonix Fence Corp, Price Contracting + Landscaping, Echo Building Services, Country Living, Connect Farms, and Ironside Junk Removal + Hauling.

Special appreciation to Tanya Roberts and Kristin Whaley for their dedication and hard work bringing this project to life for our Panthers. 💚🐾

✨ What a wonderful celebration of music and community! ✨
Some of our students from École Percy Pegler School had the opportunity to perform our finale song, “Our Home, Our Heart,” at the Okotoks Children’s Festival. This special piece was written in collaboration with Calgary Opera for our 50th anniversary and brought together young voices to share a message of belonging, connection, and pride in our community.
We are so proud of our students for their enthusiasm, hard work, and beautiful performance. 🎶❤️

🌱✨ Exciting News for Our School Community! ✨🌱

We are incredibly grateful to have received a $20,000 grant from the Okotoks Optimist Club Club of Alberta to support the development of our school community garden!

This generous investment will continue to help create a vibrant outdoor learning space where students can connect with nature, learn about sustainability, and grow together as a community.

A special thank you to parent Tanya Roberts for her support and advocacy of this initiative. We would also like to recognize Mrs. Whaley and the Percy Pegler Garden Club for spearheading this project and turning a vision into reality. Their dedication, passion, and hard work have made this opportunity possible.

We can’t wait to see our garden grow and flourish for years to come! 🌻🌿🍅

Today we celebrated a remarkable milestone at École Percy Pegler 💚 Mme Belliveau is marking 25 years of teaching French Immersion with Foothills School Division! Colleagues and families surprised her with a beautiful card and thoughtful gifts — a small way to honour the joy, dedication, and connection she brings to our school every day.

Merci, Mme Belliveau, for inspiring generations of Panthers 🐾

📚✨ Library Adventure! ✨📚
Mrs. MacNeil’s Grade 2/3 class had a wonderful opportunity to visit the today! Students enjoyed a guided tour, learned how the library is organized, explored the different sections, and discovered all the amazing resources available to our community.
A big thank you to the library staff for sharing their knowledge and helping our young readers develop a love of books and learning! 📖💚

Our Grade 1 Explore students were absolute citizen scientists today at the Leighton Art Centre!
With Mr. Critchley — and the wonderful leadership of Mrs. Whaley and Mrs. Reschke — our young Panthers collected real field data on two incredible birds: the mountain bluebird and the tree swallow. 💚🐾

Students recorded how many eggs and babies were in each nest box, identified which species lived where, and watched as Mr. Critchley carefully banded adult birds. Thanks to our amazing volunteers, those birds were released gently back into nature — a moment of pure wonder for our learners.

Back at school, our gratitude circle focused on our hopes and dreams for the birds we met today. The empathy, curiosity, and care these Grade 1s showed was truly inspiring.

Thank you, Mr. Critchley, Mrs. Whaley, Mrs. Reschke, and the Leighton Art Centre for another unforgettable Explore experience!
