Yesterday, residents from all four Mountain View Seniors' Housing lodges in Mountain View County came together at the Rotary Athletic Park of Olds for our very first MVSH Summer Social! The greatest gift of the day was bringing residents from all four MVSH communities together, turning strangers into friends and creating memories that will last for years to come. 💙

Residents enjoyed a free BBQ lunch thanks to Westview Co-operative, Sundre Freson Bros., and MVSH Board Director Greg Harris; a friendly horseshoe tournament led by our fabulous Activity Coordinators; face painting by Happy Designs Creations; and even a special visit from Nugget the therapy pony, courtesy of Anita and the Help Alberta Wildies Society.

We'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Town of Olds for helping make this event possible by providing access to the accessible facilities at Rotary Athletic Park, along with tables, chairs, barricades, and other support to help ensure a successful day. We are also incredibly grateful to our community partners, volunteers, staff, families, and everyone else who contributed to making this event such a success!

Aloha! 🌺🌴🍍

The tropical vibes were flowing at Aspen Ridge Lodge last week as residents enjoyed a festive Hawaiian Luau lunch!

Following lunch, residents learned some hula dance moves from Taraya Middleton with NahlaniDance Productions and discovered the stories and traditions behind this beautiful Hawaiian art form.

As they say in Hawaii, "Hoʻokahi nō lā o ka malihini" which means "A stranger only for a day". Mahalo nui loa (thank you very much) to everyone who helped make this afternoon so special!

Did you know MVSH is governed by a Board of Directors made up of local municipal leaders?

Each Board member is a Council representative from the municipalities and county we serve, helping ensure our organization reflects the needs of our communities.

Our leadership structure works a lot like a municipality:
👉 Board of Directors sets direction and governance
👉 Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) leads the organization
👉 MVSH team delivers programs and services every day

This structure ensures strong accountability, local representation, and decisions made with our communities in mind 💙
