One of the good things about our department is that we have an excellent mix of experience from 37 years all the way to just started this year. Deputy Chief Wayne Horn received the 20 year service medal and 30 year first bar long service medal. Captain Pat Rousseau received the 30 year first bar long service medal. Deputy Chief Sean Frey and Captain Kevin Bachewich received 20 year service medals. We acknowledged the contributions of Firefighter and First Aid trainer Bob Reside who has been on the department for 20 years and who is moving. We also acknowledged Firefighter and Fire Aid trainer Shannon Bryer who has been on the department for 10 years and who is pausing service to take on new challenges.

It doesn’t happen often that we pause and appreciate each other, our partners and family that support us. We would like to thank The Marina Clear Lake and Sportsman Park Clear Lake for helping us to make some memories and mark some milestones.

Thank you everyone for coming down to the fire hall open house. Today we raised $860 for the Canadian Cancer Society. The money will donated in Loving Memory of Nicole Borgstrom, wife of one our firefighters.

This past week was National Telecommunicators week, and the Onanole Fire Department would like to extend its appreciation to Brandon 911 comms center, Brandon MTCC, and the RCMP comms center for their vital work. They serve as the initial point of contact in emergency situations and dispatch the necessary agencies, consistently responding to every call with a calm, compassionate, and professional demeanor.

They are also the calm voice behind the radio, providing us assistance with every call.
