100 Mile & District Emergency Support Services ESS provides short term assistance to British Columbians who are forced out of their �./disasters WE ARE THE "PEOPLE" PART OF EMERGENCY RESPONSES.

ESS provides short term assistance to British Columbians who are forced out of their homes due to fires, floods, earthquakes or other emergencies. The 100 Mile House ESS Team is committed to helping those affected by emergencies throughout the South Cariboo and other neighbouring communities. ESS volunteer? Click Here For More Information! ESS volunteers are people committed to the well-being of others. There are many roles that volunteers can help fill within our team:

Registering evacuees
Connecting family and friends
Providing Food & Lodging
Allocating resources and support at Reception Centres
Scheduling tasks and people
Emergencies can happen at day or night throughout the year. ESS Volunteers should be flexible, responsible, accountable and physically and emotionally capable of handling the demands placed on them during emergencies. ESS teams are required to handle sensitive, confidential information and therefore we will ask for personal references and clearances before you start. How do you become an ESS Volunteer? The Thompson-Nicola Regional District has downgraded an Evacuation Order for approximately 373 addressed properties due to the Pear Lake (C40983) wildfire to an Evacuation Alert.

Impacted people may return but should be ready to leave on short notice.

The expanded Evacuation Alert now includes Beaverdam Lake, Big Bar Lake, Chasm, Little Big Bar Lake, Meadow Lake, and areas along Highway 97 and Clinton-Pavilion Road near Clinton.

For returning residents, Highway 97 through Clinton is open to local traffic only as of 8 a.m. PDT. Road conditions and traffic restrictions are subject to change. Check DriveBC for updates: https://www.drivebc.ca/

The TNRD will be downgrading an Evacuation Order to Evacuation Alert for approximately 373 addressed properties in the vicinity of the Pear Lake wildfire, effective August 15, 2026 at 8:00 am.

Areas being downgraded to Evacuation Alert include Beaverdam Lake, Big Bar Lake, Chasm, Little Big Bar Lake, Meadow Lake, and areas of Highway 97 and Clinton-Pavilion Road near Clinton.

The Village of Clinton will also be downgrading the Evacuation Order to Evacuation Alert for the municipality, effective August 14, 2026 at 8:00 am.

Highway 97 will be open to local traffic through Clinton when the Evacuation Order is lifted, on August 15, 2026 at 8:00 am. Highway 97 will fully open to public traffic as of noon on August 15, 2026.

An Evacuation Alert issued by the Thompson-Nicola Regional District due to the Pear Lake Wildfire has been downgraded to All Clear, effective August 10, 2026, at 0800hrs. This All Clear notice affects approximately 128 addressed properties in Electoral Area “E” (Bonaparte Plateau), as outlined on the map below.

Given the scope and scale of wildfires currently burning in B.C., and to further protect public safety, recreational off-road vehicle use will be prohibited on Crown land in the Kamloops and Southeast Fire Centres, as well as parts of the Cariboo and Coastal Fire Centres. This prohibition is effective immediately, as of 12 p.m. (noon) on August 10, 2026.
