Today marks the final day of Fire Prevention Week, and 100 Mile House Fire Rescue would like to thank everyone who took the time to learn more about fire safety throughout the week!

This year, we focused on important fire safety topics, including lithium-ion battery safety, smoke alarms, home fire escape plans, cooking safety and carbon monoxide awareness.

We also had a great time visiting 100 Mile Elementary School yesterday, where we spoke with approximately 200 students from Kindergarten to Grade 7. It was great to see so many young people interested in learning about fire safety!

πŸš’ Remember, fire prevention doesn’t end today!

Fire safety is something we should all practise year-round. Whether it’s testing your smoke alarms, checking your home escape plan or simply being more aware of fire hazards, small actions can make a big difference.

A big thank you to our community, local schools, teachers and everyone who helped make this year’s Fire Prevention Week a success!

We were impressed with how smart and engaged the students were! They asked some great questions and showed us just how much they already know about fire safety.

πŸ‘ A big thank you to the principal and all the teachers for inviting us into your school today and allowing us to spend time with the students.
